Practical Guide When Launching A Product

January 23rd 2007 06:21
Do you have a great product in your hands but at a loss how to introduce it to the market? Here are some steps to get you to the profit line :

1. Prepare to compete and win the war

For the small business, the marketplace is more of a war zone where you prepare yourself, your company and your product to win. The most crucial thing to prepare is your marketing plan. Your marketing plan is your battle plan on how your product will win in the marketplace. It must contain the following : Your target market. Do you have a clear idea of whom you want to sell your product? Who are the people who should be in your team to make victory possible. What is your timing strategy? What tools of marketing and promotions are you going to use to inform, interest and persuade your target customer to buy your product?

2. Choose your marketing tools

Some promotional tools available you can choose from : name, product niche, color, identity, decor, pricing, business card, linkages or tie-ins, service, testimonials, greetings , sales presentations, financing availability, free samples, demos, contests, and many more. Whatever promotional tools you use, what is more important is the impact of your content or the power of the words of your marketing.

3. Choose only the effective words

What you say in your marketing campaign can make or break your great product. Your message should say that what you are offering is new, explain why it is better than the othe competing products. Construct your message as though you were speaking only to your targeted market and not just to anyone. Use words and concepts that they use and connect with them at once.

4. Execute your marketing plan with passion.

Be passionate in your attack and execute your marketing plan with strength and courage. Your competitor, and even your family and friends might say that your marketing sucks, do not listen to them and instead focus to your hottest targets. Stick to your battle plan, if you can't, do not start.

5. Be patient and consistent with your attack

Study shows it takes around nine promotion encounters before your target customer considers to buy your product or avail of your service. Be patient and continue releasing your promotion, because the day when you decide not to release any promo might be the day your target prospect would finally want to make a decision, but unfortunately your promo is not there to lead him. This assumes that your product is of good quality, your promo contains juicy information, and your marketing is at the right places. It is during this waiting period when future failure scenarios will emerge and challenge your faith in your plan. Do not slacken, consider the doubts but do not entertain them.

6. Prepare for the victory

Whether you like it or not, your customers have the power to make or break your business. So prepare to treat them like royalty, make them your friend, even your partner and they will sustain with harvests for a lifetime.
