On Launching A Brand On The Internet
December 28th 2007 05:26
Best-selling marketing author and brand strategist, Al Ries, has these advice on the basic principles for launching a brand on the internet :
First, the web site should have a separate and unique name, one that is short, easy to spell and easy to pronounce. Next, the site should try to be the first in a new category. For example Amazon was the first to launch on books online. Third, the primary goal of the site should be to sell products or services, not to become a medium or advertising. According to Al Ries, advertising will never become a major factor on the Internet. Why? Because the Internet is "interactive" and it's just too easy for consumers to turn off the advertising.
